Kidtastic Movie Class! (ages 8 -12)

10am – 11:30am

Saturday Jan. 8, 2011

6 weeks, cost $130

Jan. 8th to Feb. 12th

We’re making a movie! We will choose from a selection of kid friendly scripts then cast, rehearse, shoot, edit and Ta Da!… a movie! After the last class we will have a mini premiere (date TBD) in the studio.

Working as a crew we will block the shots, pick out sets, props, costumes and set decorating. We will shoot in the studio and some “on location” outside locations near the studio.

We will work our craft by fleshing out our characters and by working as a tight knit crew.

Skills we will work on in this class:

-Raising confidence in performance based activities (same confidence used in life)

-Collaboration with fellow actors and director

-Projecting the voice

-Making character choices

-Listening to other actors

-Using all senses to nail a character

-Finding the creative choice

-Learning film terms used on film sets

-Trusting instincts

-Looking silly and not caring

-Finding pride in accomplishment… The Film!

This film might not make it into the Sundance Film Festival but we will sure have fun!

*As a working casting director films may come into town that require my services. If this is the case during this session we might need to reschedule some weekly classes, or bring in a guest director.

To register please send an e-mail to jadeph@gmail.com and in the subject line put "Kidtastic Movie Class." In the body of the e-mail include your child's name and age. We will get back to you with registration details shortly.

Hope to see you at the Darling Series Studio!

This class will be a blast!

Nice! It was good to know about it. I am a school teacher and every month we organize a play. It is either related to the shows by Andy Yeatman on Netflix or to an animated movie. This way we help kids understand and learn good deeds and moral values. I would like to watch this movie for sure.
